How does a consortium come together, what expectations are associated with a project and what challenges does the production industry need to solve now and in the future? The short videos of the series “EuProGigant in conversation with…” provide insights into the formation of the research project and introduce the faces behind EuProGigant.
With the Hannover Messe, which took place end of May 2022, the EuProGigant project celebrated its trade fair debut and immediately positioned itself as a pioneer in terms of a practical implementation of first use cases according to Gaia-X. Besides exciting presentations and impressive demo sessions of the validation platform, some of our project partners revealed details about their role in the project, their expectations and the collaboration in the consortium.

Dr. Claudia Schickling leads the Pilotfabrik Industrie 4.0 of the TU Wien in Vienna, Austria. She is the project coordinator for Austria.
Markus Weber is Head of Research for Manufacturing Technology at the Institute for Production Management, Technology and Machine Tools at the TU Darmstadt, Germany. He is the project coordinatior for Germany.
Albert Peci (Web3 Lead) and Kai Albert (Business Lead) are both co-founders of deltaDAO AG. The Hamburg-based specialists in distributed ledger technologies (DLT) have supported the EuProGigant project team in its preparations around HANNOVER MESSE by adding the Minimal Viable Gaia-X demonstrator (MVG) to the validation platform.
Dr Werner Liemberger is Technical Key Account Manager at craftworks GmbH. The provider for AI and software solutions is EuProGigant project partner in Austria.
Werner Kirsten is head of the teaching and learning factory at Gebr. Heller Maschinenfabrik GmbH – EuProGigant project partner in Germany. In the video, he provides insights into the genesis of the research project and explains why EuProGigant is so important for Europe’s manufacturing industry.
Prof. Dr.-Ing. Matthias Weigold is head of the Institute for Production Management, Technology and Machine Tools at TU Darmstadt and manager of the project consortium on the German side. He explains from a research perspective, why EuProGigant is so important for tomorrow’s industry.
Prof. Dr. Johannes Fröhlich is Vice Rector Research and Innovation of the TU Wien, Austria. He provides insights into the added value, that research projects like EuProGigant have for the manufacturing industry how they influence the education of students.
