During the latest AMIDS consortium meeting at the Pilot Factory TU Wien – Industrie 4.0, various project partners from across Austria came together to discuss current events and project updates.<\/h3>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

Vienna, January 14, 2025<\/strong>. The research projects of the AMIDS association, consisting of PilotLin-X and ResearchLin-X, aim to improve innovation in Austrian production. During the last consortium meeting, crucial updates on the use cases were provided.<\/p>\n

Use Case 2<\/strong> focuses on the successful utilization of data along the value chain in plastic production. Specifically, the Asset Administration Shell (AAS) is used to define a standard for data usage. Throughout the entire chain, a Digital Product Passport (DPP) is used to determine the materials a component is made of and the total CO2 emissions of a batch.<\/p>\n

Currently, a demonstrator is being constructed to successfully implement this use case. In the earlier phases of the project, a printer was used to produce a QR code that represented the corresponding Digital Product Passport. Due to the positive developments of the project, the demonstrator now consists of a scale that measures the relevant data of a component and automatically integrates it into the Digital Product Passport. Subsequently, JKU Linz acts as a mediator and creates the product passport for an injection molding machine.<\/p>\n

This example, presented by Klaus Straka, Andrea Haubenreich, Bernhard C\u00e4sar, Gabriel Seebach, and Roman Gehrer, clearly demonstrates the positive developments within the EuProGigant ecosystem and the strong cohesion and collaboration of the various consortia.<\/p>\n

About AMIDS<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Austrian Manufacturing Innovation Data Space (AMIDS) is a collaborative initiative to promote innovation and increase competitiveness in the manufacturing sector through data-driven solutions. Since 2023, AMIDS has been an essential part of the ecosystem surrounding EuProGigant.<\/p>\n

The AMIDS project is divided into the following areas:<\/p>\n

Pilot Lin-X<\/strong>: This initiative focuses on the practical implementation of data spaces in pilot manufacturing environments to test and validate innovative solutions in the real world.<\/p>\n

Research Lin-X<\/strong>: This area is dedicated to exploring leading research and development activities in data spaces and aims to push the boundaries of what is possible in manufacturing through collaboration and advanced data analysis.<\/p>\n

About EuProGigant<\/strong><\/p>\n

EuProGigant stands for the \u201cEuropean Production Giganet for Disaster-Resilient Self-Orchestration of Value-Added and Learning Ecosystems.\u201d This binational project began on March 1, 2021, and runs for four years. The goal is to establish a cross-location, digitally networked production ecosystem.
